About 1 in 8 men will get prostate cancer in their lifetime.

Do not wait to get tested if you suspect prostate cancer

Symptoms of prostate cancer can include:

  • needing to pee more frequently, often during the night
  • needing to rush to the toilet
  • difficulty in starting to pee (hesitancy)
  • straining or taking a long time while peeing
  • weak flow
  • feeling that your bladder has not emptied fully
  • blood in urine or blood in semen

The most commonly used tests for prostate cancer are:

  • blood tests
  • a physical examination of your prostate
  • an MRI scan
  • a biopsy
